The ABC has now a “3D documentary” on the first day of Gallipoli, where the ANZAC troops landed on what is now called Anzac Cove in Turkey. The site, using the latest version of Flash, Flash 10 – which allows the support of 3D images, along with Google Earth and other historical data, the ABC has brought to life one of the most memorable aspects of Australia’s wartime history.

Along with the flash animation, you can also get a Google Earth KML file, allowing you to see the locations and read some of the information on Google Earth itself, and historical information using a variety of books and other sources including the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington, New Zealand and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Because of the intense amount of content from the ABC, please make sure you have enough on your internet download cap left to view some of the content.
