Thanks A Billion

It’s official – Apple’s online, world-famous App Store has had one billion downloads in just nine months – an achievement that has the tech industry buzzing (mostly over who will win / has won). The 1,000,000,000th app was download at approximately 1.52pm PDT (6.52am AEST), closing the two-week promotion.

The winner will be announced sometime in the near future after being contacted by Apple and will recieve a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card, an iPod Touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro.

Apple have announced that since last count, there are 35 000 apps availble for download on nearly 37 million iPod and iPhone devices across 72 countries worldwide.
