250px-Microsoft_wordmark.svg RUMOUR MILL : After breaking the news that Microsoft is rumoured to start making some staff redundant (ironically, on Christmas), a new report has put in some numbers on the rumoured layoffs that are said to be happening on January 15.

According to Fudzilla, the Redmond-based company is said to axe 15,000 people from its 90,000 people workforce, or 17 percent of its entire workforce, worldwide. So far, no division has been targeted for most of the cuts, but it is said that the MSN division and Microsoft EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) may take a large portion of the 15,000 job cull.

However, as noted by Fudzilla, the Xbox 360 department, part of the Entertainment and Devices Division, may not get as much of the cuts since the recent upturn of the console beating rival PlayStation 3.
