Optus has announced that it will change their plans, after the successful Fusion plans. Due to be released next month, the new plans are set to cover ADSL, ADSL2+ and Cable plans.

The Fusion plans came into controversy after it will include uploads into their quota usage. The only other ISP that does that is Telstra’s Bigpond. These new plans will feature this as well. However, all older and existing plans will stay the same.

The new plans will offer a brand new shaping speed as well, scrapping the crippling 28.8kb/s speeds. The new speed is to be at 64 kb/s and 128 kb/s for the higher plans.

The Russian music download site, allofMP3.com, is set to be reborn after a Moscow court found that the site is legal. This comes a big blow to the US Government.

The site says that it pays it royalties to a non-commercial company that spreads the money to the record companies.

PSP wireless heartbeat sensor hack

It’s amazing what homebrew coders for the PSP are able to come up with, especially when you consider that the “solutions” don’t really solve anything. If you’ve ever hankered for a heartbeat recognition ability for your portable gaming machine, then here it is. One guy called Art simply soldered a coiled copper wire across the microphone input, which allows it to pick up the signal from a wireless heartbeat sensor. The result isn’t visually impressive — he hasn’t coded a graphical readout yet — but it should definitely inspire confidence in the homebrew community’s ingenuity. PSP pull-ups anyone?

The US jobs website, Monster, has now questions to answer after it had lost hundreds and thousands of users data by an online attack.

A computer program was used to access the employers’ section using stolen data. Symantec, which warned Monster about the attack, said that “the log-ins were used to harvest user names, e-mail addresses, home addresses and phone numbers, which were uploaded to a remote web server.”

A Japanese company has begun recalling an arm wrestling arcade game after three people broke their arm when playing it. The game, Arm Spirit, is to be removed in 150 game arcades around Japan.

The creator, Atlus, has said that an investigation has been launched to see if there is any malfunctions.

The game allows you to verse players on 10 levels by arm wrestling. This varies between a french maid, a dog or a drunken martial arts master; before allowing you to verse a professional wrestler.

The game is not available outside of Japan.

According to a tipster (and from Matt’s blog), Wordpress.com was not supposed to be blocked, but one of the blogs. It had to do with a military officer which led to a court order. TTNet, the main telecommunication’s company, complied with the order, but some inexperienced employee blocked the whole Wordpress.com domain instead. He soon realised and took action to fix it.

The employee, according to the tipster, is about to leave his job.

Security firm, Sophos, has warned that another variant of the Storm trojan has come. The first variant was carried via an .exe e-card as an attachment, however this variant can infect your computer from the web directly. It has seen a 6.3% of spam to be related to e-cards in the last 48 hours.

The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has posted a warning up on it’s site, saying that it is “currently on the rise”.

Symantec has confirmed the resurgence, but said it has “not registered much new activity.”  Only McAfee has labelled this variant as not a high risk alert, saying that it has not heard of any reports of the Storm trojan.
