Google has announced that it has acquired ImageAmerica, a company that builds high resolution images from aerial imagery.

The Clayton, Missouri based company has previously provided images for both Google Maps and Earth, including the black and white images of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

The price has not been disclosed.

Atari has revealed that it has been served with a non-compliance notice from NASDAQ and now is facing a delisting. According to the notice, the Paris-based company has not filed it’s yearly earnings report. It has appealed to the NASDAQ Listing Qualifications Panel, which suspends the suspension until the panel has given it’s ruling.

If the panel says it would be delisted, this would be the second time it has been delisted by NASDAQ.

MELBOURNE - The reawaken networks would like to announce that reawaken graphics and the StormX’s Group, both network members, have now partnered up with each other to form the reawaken StormX Vista Development Group (RSX VDG). Both groups have worked together in the past 6 months, with the reawaken graphics being commissioned to developed the images on the AussieISP and auRADIO gadgets for the Windows Sidebar. This will further expand the relationship between the two groups.

As well, the Development Group will be open to anyone; meaning that Gadget creators can actually partner up with us to help us develop more gadgets. As well, any RSX VDG gadget partnership will have free advertising across the entire network of blogs and sites on the network.

The reawaken networks is a site formed by Terence Huynh, with Stewart Wilson and James Davis, promising a new form of media company. The RSX VDG will be under the StormX’s Group, headed by James Davis. However, stormx.info and reawaken graphics will stay in their relative groups.

According to Mashable, and we have verified it, that MySpace has been replacing every single ‘i’ with .. (two small full stops) no matter where you are. The only place where it won’t get censored is where the title is.

And of course, every MySpace blogger has been outraged of this limitation. Well, I do have to admit, it is kind of stupid. Examples are here, here and here.

According to GameSpot AU, in turn from a insider, about 2 weeks ago all EB Games stores across Australia were told to return all XBOX 360s in stock back to Microsoft. As well, checking the website they had their XBOX 360 product page saying it was sold out. This was also true when GameSpot asked the stores.

It’s another setback for the Microsoft console, who just recently announced an extended warranty for 3 years costing Microsoft $1 billion. They have said that this is a “design fault”. This extended warranty is worldwide, though Microsoft Australia as made no word about how it would work here.

No details are known about the 360s, but some speculate the same design fault. A salesman at EB Games told GameSpot about the recall, but speculated that the recall could “go back to a month”.

Harvey Norman and Dick Smith have the product in stock for July 16th. However, EB Games have refused to contact GameSpot, but Microsoft Australia has said an announcement would be made later.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), the Australian equivalent to the Federal Trade Commission in the US, has now launched legal action on Google and the Trading Post, which is owned by Telstra under the Sensis brand.

The ACCC claim has been centres on the way Google handles it’s sponsored advertising. The case, lodged in the Federal Court in Sydney, says that the Trading Post broke the regulations on the Trade Practises Act, after two Google Sponsored Ads saw two companies link to the Trading Post. The two names were Kloster Ford and Charlestown Toyota, both car dealers in the Newcastle Area.

As well, the case also claims that Google has also broken the regulations after it was being deceptive and misleading by publishing both car dealers.

Ironically, only The Australian, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald have took up the story. No other media company from the US or other countries have not made an effort to write this story up.

This case can also bring forth other implications for other search engines, like Yahoo, who provide Sponsored Search. The ACCC has also said that this case is the first kind in the world.

The BBC is set to release their iPlayer in the coming weeks, and their service will be compatible only on Windows. Now complaints by the Open Source Consortium, the BBC have now agreed to address the concerns.

The iPlayer will allow UK residents with a TV License to download TV shows for up to a week after they air. Then they would have 30 days to watch the show. The BBC has noted that it wanted to produce the iPlayer in multiple systems, but noted that a very few DRM systems are cross platform (it would use DRM to delete the file).

According to Ars Technica, plans for a Mac version are underway, and should be available sometime in the fall; and as well, the BBC will consider releasing a Linux version of the iPlayer too.

Sony has said that the price cut will only effect North America only, and not anywhere else. This has been a blow to all European and Aussie gamers; where in Australia, they pay at AU$999 for the 60GB version. Both markets do not stock the 20GB version. As well, another blow comes from the fact that the 80GB version will not be coming to Europe and Australia.

Instead, a brand new “Value Pack” will be released. It would contain a 60GB Playstation 3, 2 controllers and 2 Games; Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm. This pack will cost in the UK for about £425. In other regions, the price and games will vary.

The new bundle will be released immediately at all SCEE territories, and in other PAL regions on August 1st.

Adobe has issued 3 critical system updates for it’s popular Flash program, with one designed to stop a problem in a way Flash interacts with browsers, which could result in users’ key strokes transmitted to the attacker.

Adobe Flash Player versions 9.0.45.0, 8.0.34.0 and 7.0.69.0, and all previous versions running in all operating systems, are affected. According to Secuina, “An input validation error can be exploited to execute arbitrary code when a user e.g. visits a malicious website.” This problem effects version 9.0.45.0 and earlier.

Flash Player version 7.0.69.0 and earlier running on Solaris or Linux, malicious attackers could exploit the interaction between the player and certain browsers. This could potentially lead the keystrokes being leaked from the player. Version 9 is not affected.

Flash Player version 8.0.34.0 and earlier contain a bug due to insufficient HTTP referrer validation, and can be used to execute a cross-site forgery attack. Flash Version 9 is not affected.

Adobe recommends that people upgrade to Version 9.0.37.0 for Windows and Macs and 9.0.38.0 for Linux and Solaris. For the other two, Adobe has recommended that people upgrade to Flash Player 9.
