Vista is too expensive, I know, but you can get it cheaper when buying a OEM. The OEM version is the same and is not an upgrade. You will have to see a computer parts store that is not with Dick Smith, Tandy, Harvey Norman or those well known Computer Stores. Any third-party store will sell the OEM version as it is cheaper. I checked MSY at my location, they sell it for about $285, around the same price as Vista Home Basic at Big W.
